Under The Sea - An Epcot Experience
Today is my husband's 31st birthday and unfortunately he works today so we celebrated yesterday. I gifted him the opportunity to do Epcot's DiveQuest located in The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion that he's been wanting to do for a long time. What an experience it was! He was so happy! It's something he's wanted to do for a very long time so I figured it would make the perfect gift! My husband is obsessed with sharks and pretty much anything with the ocean so this was a definite must do!
The whole experience lasts a total of three hours which includes about 40 minutes of dive time and a tour of the backstage areas. What's great about this is they include everything you need for the dive, all of your gear and equipment, all you need to do is bring your swimsuit and you must be SCUBA certified and show proof. My husband said when he went back, each diver had their own area with their names on it, they even give you shampoo to shower off with after! This experience was a one of a kind with its 5.7 million gallon salt water tank, clear water, no current and over 6000 creatures that don't want to eat you! Another plus is the awesome rock formation shaped like a Mickey head at the bottom, such a great spot for pictures! The tank is full of sharks (my husbands favorite), turtles, fish, rays and so much more! They also have dolphins and manatees in a different area that you can check out while you're there.
I am not a scuba diver, in fact, I don't even like to go into deep waters as I have an irrational fear of drowning but my daughter and I got to watch from inside the pavilion. There are 56 windows that you can view through so you won't miss a moment of this amazing experience! I am so happy he loved it, he also said if I ever wanted to get him another present in the future, to do this again.
This experience costs $179.00 and they do a passholder discount too so if you have one make sure you use it! You do not have to have a park ticket to do the dive, however, if you want your family and friends to watch from inside, they do have to have park admission. There are dives available almost everyday at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
